A CBI team arrested a solver in the NEET question paper leak case.

Patna July 30: A CBI team arrested a solver who was allegedly involved in the NEET paper leak case, an official said

The accused was arrested from Mumbai and was produced in the special CBI court in Patna on Monday and the special judicial magistrate Kumari Rinku granted his remand to the CBI team until August 2.

The alleged person is identified as Raunak Raj. He was present in Hazaribagh on the day of the examination held on May 5 this year and allegedly solved the question paper.

Raunak was the eighth solver arrested by the CBI in the NEET question paper leak case.

A CBI team had previously arrested the four third-year students of Patna AIIMS on July 18. Besides them, the CBI also arrested two MBBS students from Bharatpur and one from RIMS Ranchi as well.

The NEET question paper leak case was first exposed by Patna police on the day of examination, May 5. The case was initially transferred to the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar police which swiftly investigated it and exposed several individuals including the mastermind Sanjeev Mukhiya and his associates like Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky, Chintu Kumar and others. They are the natives of Nalanda district and Sanjeev Mukhiya is still on the run.

The case was later transferred to the CBI following the recommendation of the Union Education Ministry and more than 30 accused were arrested so far.
