Lalu Prasad Yadav took the kidney of his daughter and then gave her a ticket for Lok Sabha election, says Samrat Choudhary.

Patna, March 22, 2024: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Friday triggered a political storm after making a controversial comment on Lalu Prasad Yadav, and his daughter Rohini Acharya, who is set to contest the Saran Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Choudhary alleged, “Lalu Prasad Yadav is a big seller of tickets in elections. He had taken the kidney of his daughter and then gave her a ticket. This is the real identity of Lalu Prasad Yadav.”

Rohini Acharya donated a kidney to her father in December 2022, a fact that has often been highlighted by the RJD as an example of family sacrifice.

The remark drew immediate and sharp condemnation from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD.

Samrat Choudhary has crossed all limits of humanity by making such an objectionable statement against Lalu Prasad Yadav. He holds a constitutional post and is also the president of a political party. The people of Bihar will teach him and his party a lesson in the Lok Sabha elections,” said Ejaz Ahmed, RJD spokesperson.

The RJD is expected to field Rohini Acharya from Saran, while Misa Bharti is likely to contest from Patliputra, with Jay Prakash Narayan and Alok Mehta emerging as probable candidates for Banka and Ujiarpur Lok Sabha constituencies, respectively.

Samrat Choudhary’s statement will intensify the battle between the RJD and the NDA:

Political observers say the remark is likely to further intensify the already heated war of words between the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc in Bihar as campaigning gains momentum.
