Chirag Paswan has shown determination to reclaim the LJP name and its iconic symbol on the 25th foundation day.

Patna November 28, 2024: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has reaffirmed his determination to reclaim the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) name and its election symbol, the “Bungalow,” which are currently under review by the Election Commission.

Speaking on the 25th foundation day of LJP, which was established by his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, on October 28, 2000, Chirag Paswan expressed confidence that the matter would soon be restored to the party’s original identity.

“The matter is in the final stages of the resolution with the Election Commission and anticipated a favourable outcome shortly,” he said.

Chirag Paswan celebrated the 25th foundation day of LJP at 1 Wheeler Road Bungalow:

The foundation day celebration, originally planned for Gandhi Maidan, was relocated to the newly allotted party office on One Wheeler Road, a place steeped in emotional significance for Chirag and the party’s history. During the occasion, CM Nitish Kumar also reached the One Wheeler Road and paid tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan.

Chirag Paswan described the celebration as a moment of pride and nostalgia, remarking that the office holds “old memories” of his father’s political journey.

Chirag Paswan openly criticized Pashupati Kumar Paras:

Addressing the ongoing family and political feud, Chirag laid the blame squarely on his uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras, for the rift that split both the family and the party.

“The decision to separate was his. He excluded my mother and me from the family. Despite being the eldest, he chose to distance himself, Reconciliation is no longer possible,” Chirag Paswan said.

LJP splits after the demise of Ram Vilas Paswan:

The split emerged after Ram Vilas Paswan’s death, with Chirag and Paras vying for control of the party and its legacy. Both leaders have since claimed to carry forward Ram Vilas Paswan’s vision and have separately celebrated the party’s foundation day.

The feud has deeply divided the party, with each faction seeking legitimacy in the eyes of supporters and the Election Commission.

Chirag Paswan’s public statements on the foundation day highlight his resolve to secure the LJP’s original name and symbol while signalling a definitive end to any possibility of mending ties with Paras. Despite the split, the rivalry underscores the enduring influence of Ram Vilas Paswan’s legacy in shaping Bihar and national politics.
