Background of the BPSC examination controversy:

The BPSC exam was held on December 13 acres 912 centers in Bihar.

Reports of massive irregularities surfaced, particularly at the Bapu center in Patna’s Kumhrar locality, leading to agitation.

Following this, the BPSC cancelled the examination for the Bapu centre and conducted a re-examination on January 4.

The agitating candidates are calling for the cancellation of the entire examination across all centres, not just the Bapu center.

A group of candidates has filed a petition in the Patna High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for January 15.

During the agitation, Patna police conducted lathi charges thrice on protesting candidates, intensifying the unrest.

Opposition parties, including the RJD, Jan Suraj Party, CPI-ML, Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan (Pappu Yadav), and others, have expressed solidarity with the candidates.

Prashant Kishor, the chief of the Jan Suraj Party, has been on a hunger strike since January 2, demanding justice for the candidates. He was recently admitted to Medanta Hospital due to health concerns.

Both agitating candidates and the Jan Suraj Party have filed petitions in the Patna High Court seeking the cancellation of the examination. The case is admitted, with the next hearing scheduled on January 15.

The BPSC controversy has brought together political parties across ideological lines, highlighting the gravity of the issue. The involvement of major political figures, protests, and legal actions underscores the candidates’ demand for accountability and transparency in the examination process.

As the situation unfolds, the focus remains on ensuring a fair resolution that upholds the integrity of the examination system while addressing candidates’ concerns.
