CBI conducted a raid at the house of NEET paper leak accused Rocky in Nalanda.
Patna July 2: With the help of Bihar police, a team of CBI, raided the house of Rakesh Kumar alias Rocky in Bihar’s Nalanda district on Tuesday afternoon.
Rocky is an alleged accused in the NEET UG question paper leak case and is currently at large. He is a resident of Gajendra Bigha village under Hilsa police station in the district.
The CBI team, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), coordinated with the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Hilsa police station before proceeding to Rocky’s house in Gajendra Bigha village.
Upon arrival, the CBI team found the house locked. Following protocol, they summoned the ward councilor of the village. In the presence of the councilor, they broke the lock of the house and conducted a search of the premises. After completing the raid, the CBI team returned to Patna without briefing anyone about the recovery.
The NEET UG examination took place on May 5, and the question paper leak was uncovered by Patna police on the same day. The Patna police arrested 6 examination mafias, 4 candidates and 3 parents.
The case was subsequently transferred to the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar police on May 15 and six more were arrested from Deoghar. The investigation was later handed over to the CBI.
Rocky, who is still at large, is a nephew of the main accused, Sanjeev Mukhiya, who is also absconding. The CBI considers Rocky a crucial link in the NEET paper leak case. Investigations revealed that Rocky had booked rooms for 30 to 35 candidates at the Learn Play School in Patna. The leaked question paper was allegedly passed from Sanjeev Mukhiya to Rocky, who then had it solved by medical students in Patna and Ranchi and given to candidates to memorize it.
