Bima Bharti claimed she will not resign from the post of MLA.

Patna: Rupali legislator Bima Bharti who resigned from the primary membership of JD-U on Saturday and joined RJD, claimed that she will not resign from the post of MLA.
Bima Bharti was elected from Rupauli assembly constituency in Purnea district on the ticket of JD-U in 2020.
“I have resigned from JD-U and joined RJD but I will not resign from the post of MLA. If they want to take action against me, go ahead. I am not bothered about it,” Bima Bharti said while interacting with the media persons on Sunday.
When asked about why she gave the resignation from JD-U, Bima Bharti said: “I have no problem with our chief minister Nitish Kumar. He is a good person but the people surrounding him including ministers and IAS officers were not doing my work. They do not want a person belonging to Extremely Backward Caste (EBC) to meet the chief minister.”
When asked about contesting the Lok Sabha election 2024, Bima Bharti said: “At present, I am in RJD and the decision of our national president Lalu Prasad Yadav will be the final decision for me. If he would give me a Lok Sabha ticket to contest from Purnea, I will definitely do it.”
Earlier, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, who recently merged his party in the Congress said that he will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Purnea.
“Congress is a part of Mahagathbandhan and the matter is between RJD and Congress party. I will follow the decision of our national president,” Bharti said.
