Patna, March 27, 2024: The Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas (LJPR), led by Chirag Paswan, on Wednesday announced Arun Bharti as its candidate from the Jamui (Sc-reserved) Lok Sabha seat for the 2024 general election.

The NDA has allotted five seats in Bihar to the LJPR—Jamui, Hajipur, Samastipur, Vaishali, and Khagaria. So far, candidates have been finalized for Jamui and Hajipur, where Chirag Paswan himself is contesting. The nominees for Samastipur, Vaishali, and Khagaria are expected soon.

Chirag Paswan trusted his brother-in-law Arun Bharti for Jamui seat:

Arun Bharti is Chirag Paswan’s brother-in-law, married to Chirag’s sister Nisha Paswan, making him the son-in-law of late Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan. Bharti is expected to file his nomination on March 28, the last day for filing papers for the first phase of polling.

Soon after the announcement, Bharti expressed his gratitude on social media, writing, “LJPR national president Chirag Paswan has given me the symbol of the party to contest from Jamui. I am thankful to him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. NDA will cross the 400 mark and form the government again at the Centre.”

Arun Bharti will face a tough challenge from the RJD candidate:

Bharti will face RJD candidate Archana Ravidas, a local Dalit leader from Jamui. Notably, Bharti himself is not a native of Jamui, which could play a role in the electoral dynamics of the constituency.
