BPSC rescheduled the cancelled examination held on December 13 to provide relief to affected candidates.

Patna December 19, 2024: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the rescheduled date for the 70th Combined Competitive Examination, originally cancelled at the Bapu Examination centre in Patna due to disruption.

The examination is now set to take place on January 4, 2025.

The notification, issued on December 19, 2024, by the office of the examination controller of BPSC, emphasized that the decision was taken to ensure a fair and smooth process, addressing the concerns of the affected candidates.

BPSC cancelled the examination held on December 13:

On December 13, 2024, a significant commotion occurred at Bapu Examination Centre in Kumhrar locality of Patna. Candidates alleged paper leaks and raised concerns over delays in distributing question papers. The situation escalated, leading to chaos at the centre.

Following the disturbance, a case was registered at the Agam Kuan police station against 50 to 60 unidentified individuals based on the complaint filed by the duty magistrate of the examination centre.

Due to the impact of the uproar, the examination at Bapu Examination Centre was cancelled, affecting approximately 12000 candidates, although only 5500 candidates managed to submit their OMR sheets.

The exam was conducted across 912 centres in Bihar, but the cancellation was limited to the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna.

BPSC has advised the candidates who were previously given the examination at this centre, to monitor BPSC’s official updates and make necessary preparations for the rescheduled examination.

The candidates sitting in Dharna are linking the chaos of the Bapu Examination Centre with a potential question paper leak.

They also suspect the involvement of prominent coaching centres may be involved in the commotion at the Bapu examination Centre and demand a CBI inquiry into the matter.
