Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 1.14 lakh special teachers.

Patna November 20, 2024: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to successful candidates of the special teachers on Wednesday.
A total of 1 lakh 14 thousand 138 special teachers including 98,349 primary teachers, 12,524 secondary teachers and 3,265 higher secondary teachers passed the competency examination.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar promised for jobs:
An appointment letter distribution ceremony was held at Patna’s Convention Hall, where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally handed over letters to 200 teachers, while the remaining will receive their letters from district officials.
Upon receiving these letters, the appointees will attain the status of state employees.
The program was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Education Minister Sunil Kumar, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav.
Bihar’s education system currently employs approximately 3 lakh 85 thousand teachers across primary and secondary and higher secondary levels. Of these, about 1 lakh 87 thousand teachers have passed the competency test.
On Wednesday, 1 lakh 14 thousand 138 teachers whose document verification has been completed, received their appointment letters. The remaining teachers will be issued appointment letters upon the verification of their documents.
Bihar government temporarily halted transfer of teachers:
In a related development, the Bihar government has temporarily halted its teacher transfer policy.
This decision follows a directive from Patna High Court, which sought clarification on the policy, leading the government to impose an immediate suspension.
Previously, the government had initiated the transfer process for teachers, requiring them to fill out online forms.
However, following the court’s intervention and subsequent government decision, the process has been postponed.
