Bihar becomes the second state in India, after Madhya Pradesh, to offer medical studies in Hindi.

Patna, July 2, 2024: This is great news for students from Hindi-medium schools in Bihar. From the upcoming academic session, students will be able to pursue MBBS studies in Hindi at government medical colleges in Bihar.

Bihar has become the second state in the country to offer medical education in Hindi.

It is noteworthy that approximately 85,000 government schools in the state teach in Hindi medium, and this will greatly benefit students from these schools who dream of becoming doctors.

Before Bihar, MBBS studies in Hindi were only available in Madhya Pradesh.

The new provision is based on recommendations from a nine-member high-level committee, and it will be implemented in accordance with the AIIMS New Delhi syllabus for students who pass the NEET UG exam in 2024.

The idea is to simplify medical education and support meritorious students from Hindi medium backgrounds.

Historic decision of the Nitish Kumar government:

“The Health Department, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has taken this historic step after thorough discussions on necessary aspects, including the availability of textbooks for the MBBS course. This decision aligns with the government’s goal of promoting Hindi and making it a global language,” Pandey said.
