Patna, March 2, 2026: Nitish Kumar on Monday inspected the Saidpur drain near Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna and reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction work. Besides Saidpur, he also inspected the Bakarganj drain project.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister examined the entire stretch of the drain project and directed officials to expedite the construction and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe.

The Saidpur drain is considered crucial for the upscale Rajendra Nagar area, which frequently faces severe waterlogging during the monsoon season.
An official said that once completed, the project will provide significant relief to residents.
The government is aiming to complete the work before the onset of the upcoming monsoon season.
During the Inspection, The chief minister was accompanied by Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Secretary to the Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Patna DM Tyagarajan SM and other senior officials.

In recent weeks, Nitish Kumar has been conducting regular inspections of major drainage projects in Patna.
Currently, construction work is underway on the Mandiri drain, Rajiv Nagar drain and Serpentine Road drain, with Nitish Kumar personally reviewing progress at regular intervals.
After the completion of the Mandiri drain project, the Bihar government plans to construct a four-lane road connecting Beiley Road at the Income Tax roundabout to Ashok Rajpath near Bans Ghat.
Additionally, a two-lane road is proposed on the Rajiv Nagar drain and a four-lane road along the Serpentine Road drain.

Since the formation of the new government, Kumar has intensified field inspections, underscoring his firm stance against delays in development projects.

Officials believe that upon completion, these drainage and road projects will not only address waterlogging issues but also significantly ease traffic congestion in adjoining localities.
