Sitting MPs may create trouble for NDA candidates of Bihar in LS poll 2024.

Patna: While the Lok Sabha election intensified in Bihar, the sitting MPs of NDA may create trouble for its candidates in the Lok Sabha election 2024.
More than half a dozen sitting MPs of NDA were either not given seats or they resigned from their respective parties. Many of these MPs announced they would contest this election at any cost. Hence, it is obvious that they will cut the vote bank of NDA in Bihar.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha election, NDA comprises 3 political parties such as BJP JD-U and LJP and they have won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, two more political parties Hindustani Awam Morcha- Secular (HAM-S) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) joined the NDA.
Vijay Kumar Manjhi is one such candidate of Bihar’s Gaya Lok Sabha constituency. He won the Lok Sabha election on the ticket of JD-U in 2019. As per the seat sharing adjustment, Gaya seat was allotted to HAM-S and former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi will be the candidate of NDA. Vijay Kumar Manjhi was expecting a ticket from RJD but as the party of Lalu Prasad Yadav gave the ticket to Kumar Sarvjeet from Gaya, he may contest election as an independent.
Mahabali Singh is another sitting MP of Karakat Lok Sabha constituency. He won the Karakat Lok Sabha seat on the JD-U ticket in 2019. As BJP has given this seat to Upendra Kushwaha, he may turn out to be a troubling factor for him and NDA. Mahabali Singh announced to contest Karakat seat at any cost in Lok Sabha election 2024.
Rama Devi, the three times MP from Sheohar Lok Sabha constituency, is another sitting MP. She won Sheohar Lok Sabha constituency on BJP ticket in 2009, 2014 and 2019. The Sheohar seat was allotted to JD-U in this Lok Sabha election and Lovely Anand is the expected candidate of the party. She and her younger son recently joined JD-U.
Pashupati Kumar Paras, is another leader who may contest Lok Sabha election 2024 against NDA in Bihar. Paras earlier claimed that Hajipur is his seat and he will contest the election here in 2024. Paras is a national president of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) and has 5 MPs. He was demanding five seats in the Lok Sabha election but BJP had not given a single seat to his party.
As a result, he resigned from the post of cabinet minister. He along with four MPs named Prince Raj of Samastipur, Mahboob Ali Kaiser (Khagaria), Chandan Singh (Nawada) and Veena Devi (Vaishali) are deprived of tickets. However, Veena Devi has been in contact with Chirag Paswan for the last few months and Mahboob Ali Kaiser met with him to get the ticket for his party.
Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi is another leader of Bihar’s Mithilanchal region. He resigned from the national general secretary of JD-U on March 19. He also said that the way Nitish Kumar changed the alliance from Mahagathbandhan to NDA, it hurt his moral values.
Fatmi is eyeing on Darbhanga or Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency to contest election. He also hinted at joining RJD. In case, RJD would not give ticket to him, he will contest the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate.
