Patna April 30: Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani on Tuesday alleged that the central government is conspiring to cancel the reservation in the country.

The statement of Mukesh Sahani came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in Jhanjharpur rally on Monday said that the people of Bihar will not vote based on caste. They will vote on the merit.

“Caste is our identity. Every caste has its own identity. People stay in caste and do marriages within the castes. As far as merit is concerned, you should openly come into the field and discuss. We knew that you would cancel the reservation in the country,” Sahani said.

He also said that the RSS chief gave the same statement in the past.

“Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar advocated for reservation to bring the backward class people to the mainstream of the society,” he said.

“Amit Shah is accusing Congress of not allowing the Mandal Commission to be implemented. He has been in the centre for the last ten years, why did he not implement the same in the country. Was PM Narendra Modi clapping,” Sahani asked.
