Patna April 24: Massive tragedy averted after technical staffs have detected fuel leakage in the left engine of a Kolkata bound Indigo flight (Number 6E-342) just before the take off at Jay Prakash Narayan International airport Patna on Tuesday evening.
At that time the boarding process started and many of the passengers had already taken the seats. The passengers were immediately deboarded from the plane and taken to the terminal building. The plane had 181 passengers.
Following the incident, passengers have created ruckus inside the terminal building. They have demanded another flight. The passengers were calmed down after airline officials assured them of the arrangement of another aircraft.
Some of the passengers had to go from Kolkata to Bangalore and Mumbai as well. Eight of them were accommodated in the Ahmedabad flight while 15 were accommodated in the Delhi bound flight.
The remaining 158 passengers were sent to Kolkata through a special flight brought by the airline’s officials for them. That aircraft finally took off at 12.17 am on Wednesday.
