Patna June 1: The polling for the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024 ended at 6 pm on Saturday and the election commission has registered 50.56% polling in the 8 Lok Sabha constituencies. It is 0.68% lower polling compared to 2019 when 51.24% polling happened at that time.
The highest polling was registered at the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency. The election commission has registered 56.91% polling till 6 pm. It is higher than 2019 when the election commission had registered 55.93% in 2019.
In Buxar, the election commission has registered 53.70% till 6 pm on Saturday which is lower than 2019 when 53.89% polling was registered.
In Karakat, the election commission has registered 53.44% which is higher than 2019 when the polling was registered 48.98%.
In Jahanabad, the polling till 6 pm was registered 51.20% which is lower compared to 2019. At that time the polling was registered 51.69%.
In Sasaram, the election commission has registered 51.00% polling which was lower than 2019. At that time, 54.34% of polling had happened.
In Arrah, 48.50% of polling was recorded till 6 pm which is lower than 2019. At that time, the election commission had recorded 51.77%.
In Nalanda, the election commission has recorded 46.50% till 6 pm which is lower than 2019. At that time the election commission had registered 48.77%.
Patna Sahib was at the bottom of the tally of today’s polling. The election commission has registered 45.00% polling till 6 pm which was lower compared to 2019. At that time, 45.67% of polling was registered.
HR Srinivasa said that a total of 16634 polling booths were established in 10976 polling stations in those 8 Lok Sabha constituencies. Among them, 117 model polling centers, 146 women’s polling stations, 56 polling stations ran by PwD and 7878 polling centers were monitored through webcasting.
“We have used 20436 control units, 28267 ballot units and 22156 VVPATs in the electoral process on Saturday. We have changed 67 control units, 87 ballot units and 172 VVPATs during the mock poll and 36 control units, 52 ballot units and 169 VVPATs were changed after the mock poll,” Srinivasa said.
“We have received 168 complaints during the polling on the seventh phase and they were resolved immediately,” Srinivasa said.
During the seventh phase, a total of 1 crore, 62 lakh 04 thousand 594 voters in those 8 Lok Sabha constituencies including 85 lakh, 01 thousand 620 male, 77 lakhs, 02 thousand 559 female and 415 third gender voters. A total of 134 candidates. 122 male and 12 female candidates were in the fray of 8 Lok Sabha constituencies.
The voters have boycotted polling in booth number 1 in Nalanda district, 188 polling booths located in Paliganj polling station in Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency and 106 and 107 polling booth numbers in Jahanabad Lok Sabha constituency.
The election commission has also conducted polling from 7 am to 4 pm on 79 polling stations 72 polling booths were as such where the polling was held from 7 am to 5 pm due to extreme heat.
In the Agiaon assembly by-election, a total of 2 lakh 72 thousand 603 voters including 1 lakh 44 thousand 107 male, 1 lakh 28 thousand 495 female and 1 third gender voters in this constituency. A total of 9 candidates were in the fray in this constituency. The polling percentage on this assembly seat was 46.00% till 6 pm.
