Patna May 3: After the mysterious death of Bhojpuri actress Amrita Pandey, Bhagalpur police claimed strangulation was the reason that appeared in the postmortem and FSL reports.

With the new development, there is a strong suspicion that the actress could be murdered by someone and then hanged from the ceiling fan.

“The postmortem and FSL reports came before us and it indicated strangulation was the reason for her death. We are taking the opinions of experts in this matter and will accordingly, take action in this case,” Anand Kumar, SSP of Bhagalpur.

Following the postmortem and FLS reports, the family members of Amrita Pandey were tight-lipped.

Amrita Pandey was found hanged in mysterious circumstances in her native city Bhagalpur on April 27.

The Bhagalpur police learned about the incident on the same day at 3.30 pm and reached the spot. The investigators did not find any suicide note from the flat.

Amrita was a native of Bhagalpur district and she has a flat in Divya Dharma apartment in Adampur Ship Ghat locality under Jogsar police station in Bhagalpur city.

The police team found her mobile phone wherein she had uploaded a Whatsapp message in Hindi “Do Naav Me Sawar Thi Uski Zindagi, Hamne Apna Naav Duba Kar Uska Safar Aasan Kar Diya. (His/Her life was in two boats, we made his/her journey easier by sinking our boat).

She was living in Mumbai and she came here to attend a family function in Bhagalpur.

An official of Jogsar police station said that Amrita’s sister Veena Pandey spotted her hanged first and then she took her to the nearest hospital where doctors declared her dead. Amrita is survived by her husband Chandamani Jhangad, who is an animation engineer.

Amrita Pandey was a successful actress and worked in several Bhojpuri blockbusters with prominent stars like Khesari Lal Yadav.
