Shashi Tharoor claimed the Narendra Modi government lost the narratives of national security in this election.

Patna, May 24:

Outgoing Congress MP from Tiruvannantpuram Shashi Tharoor sharply attacked the Narendra Modi government on national security and said that it just talked but had not taken any action on the borders connected with China.

“BJP contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election by making national security an issue but what happened after that? China came to the international border connected with our country and finished the understanding that these two countries had been developed in 45 years. They (China) knew that the Narendra Modi government only talks, it cannot take any action,” Tharoor said.

“We have 65 patrolling points on the Indo-China border where the armies of both countries have the authority to do the patrolling one-by-one for 45 years. Now, The Chinese army occupied 26 of them and they are not allowing the Indian Army to go there. The Narendra Modi government had not done anything in this matter. One incident happened at Galwan when our army went there and asked the Chinese army to go away from that point as it was the turn of the Indian Army to patrol there. Our 20 soldiers achieved martyrdom in Galwan. If BJP is contesting this election on national security then I want to say this,” Tharoor said.

The statement of Shashi Tharoor came after BJP leaders including PM Narendra Modi, HM Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Yogi Adityanath, JP Nadda and other senior leaders pointed out that PoK belongs to India and they will take it from Pakistan at any cost.

HM Amit Shah during the rally in Arrah on Friday said: “The Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav scare us to not talk about Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan has a nuclear bomb. I want to tell Lalu Yadav and his alliance that we are BJP people, we are not afraid of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb. PoK is ours, it will remain ours and we will take it. This is BJP’s resolution.”

Shashi Tharoor further said: “The national security narrative of BJP actually failed in this election and hence its leaders brought Ram temple and Hinduism but its usefulness has diminished a lot after the Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla.”

“Now, we have set the narratives in this election. We asked people if there had been any change in their lifestyle in the 10 years of Narendra Modi’s rule. Do common people get jobs? Has their purchasing power increased in the market? On asking all this, people are saying that nothing like this has happened in their lives. We asked people why should we give the BJP a third chance. On saying this, their minds have changed,” Tharoor said.
