Patna, April 15, 2024:  RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday accused BJP leaders of being nervous about the Lok Sabha elections and warned that attempts to alter the Constitution would provoke a strong public backlash.

“They are talking about 400, which only shows their nervousness,” Lalu said, referring to the BJP’s repeated target of securing 400-plus seats in the Lok Sabha.

Lalu Prasad Yadav criticized Mohan Bhagwat:

Lalu warned that any attempt to change the Constitution—which he invoked as the handiwork of B. R. Ambedkar—would be met with fierce resistance from the poor, Dalits and backward classes.

“Changing the Constitution means changing the democracy of the country. The leadership of the BJP wants to bring dictatorship here,” he said, adding that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had earlier called for a review of reservation policies.

Lalu Prasad Yadav also targeted PM Modi:

Questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not acted against party leaders who speak of constitutional changes, Lalu asked, “Why is Narendra Modi not taking action against them?” He expressed confidence that the BJP would fail to secure a majority this time around.
