Samrat Choudhary said Rahul Gandhi should take a dip in the Ganga River to wash his sins.

Patna February 3, 2025: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary launched a sharp attack on the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday, said that he should take a dip in the Ganga River to ‘’wash away his sins.”
Samrat Choudhary’s remarks come ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Patna on February 5 for an event marking the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Jaglal Chaudhary. The announcement of Gandhi’s visit has intensified political tension in Bihar.
Samrat Choudhary alleged that three generations of Rahul Gandhi opposed reservation:
Accusing the Gandhi family of historically opposing reservations, Choudhary stated, ‘’If Rahul Gandhi is coming to Patna for the birth anniversary celebration of Jaglal Chaudhary, then he should first take a bath in the Ganga. His sins will be washed away when he does so. The public is well aware of the kind of politics his family has played regarding the backward and extremely backward communities.”
Samrat Choudhary further alleged that three generations of Rahul Gandhi’s family had been against reservation policies. “His great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru was against reservation. His grandmother Indira Gandhi kept the Mandal Commission file locked in the cupboard. His father, Rajiv Gandhi, never allowed the Mandal Commission to be implemented,’’ he said.
Samrat Choudhary appealed to people to look after Congress’s history on reservation:
Continuing his attack, Choudhary added, “People must understand that the Gandhi family has always opposed reservations. Now, Rahul Gandhi is trying to do politics on the issue. Until Congress was in power, the Mandal Commission was not allowed to be implemented. Whether it was Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi, they constantly opposed it. Nehru himself never wanted reservation in the country.’’
Choudhary’s remarks have added to the political storm in Bihar ahead of Gandhi’s visit, as the debate over reservation continues to be a crucial issue in the state’s politics.
