Patna, September 18: RJD will kick off its membership drive on September 19.
The RJD’s membership drive is a response to the ongoing BJP membership drive, which was launched on September 2, 2024.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, the national president of the party will start the event in New Delhi and the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly will start the program in Patna head office at 11 am.
Chitranjan Gagan, the senior leader and spokesperson of RJD said that the party leaders have been asked to stay at the venue at Delhi and Patna on the scheduled time.
Abdul Bari Siddiqui, the national general secretary of RJD, Manoj Jha, the Rajya Sabha MP, Misa Bharti, the Lok Sabha MP, and other members of the party will be present in New Delhi.
In Patna, the event will be held under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav at Karpoori Sabhagar in the RJD office where party state president Jagadanand Singh, Alok Mehta, Kumar Sarvjeet, all MLAs, MPs, MLCs, officials of minority cell, women cell, youth wing, and others will be present.
“Tejashwi Yadav will start the membership drive in Patna at 11 am. All party leaders have been asked to be present on the occasion. Currently, we have over one crore members in the country with approximately 85 lakh in Bihar alone. We are expecting to double this number through membership drive,” Gagan said.
“Following the launch of the membership drive in Delhi and Patna, it will simultaneously continue in districts and blocks,” he said.
Tejashwi Yadav recently concluded a week-long Aabhar Yatra in Bihar on September 17. He engaged with the workers at the grassroots level and asked them to connect with the common people of the society. Tejashwi Yadav is aiming to expand the party’s base before the 2025 assembly elections.
