Patna, April 8, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday hit out at former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of taking credit for works done under his government.
“It was my mistake that I brought him into the government for a few months. Now he is taking credit for all the work done by me. He is falsely claiming credit for the jobs being given to people under my government,” Nitish Kumar said while speaking to reporters in Patna.
Nitish Kumar says his focus is on governance and not publicity:
The Chief Minister asserted that he focused on governance, not publicity.
“He is spreading lies in public. I am not a person who believes in publicity. I believe in doing work for the people. Today, you can see roads, buildings, and highways in Patna and across Bihar. What was the situation before 2005?” Kumar asked.
Nitish Kumar targeted RJD over 15-year rule:
Recalling the state’s condition before 2005, Kumar said, “People were living in fear and did not step out in the evenings. There were no proper roads. Ask the older people—they know what Bihar was like before 2005.”
He also accused the previous RJD government of allowing communal tension to flourish.
During Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi’s government, Hindu-Muslim conflicts frequently took place. After I came to power in 2005, I ended all that. Everything is peaceful now. People should not worry about anything,” he added.
Reacting to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughters, Misa Bharti and Rohini Acharya, contesting in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kumar said such matters hold no significance.
“These things do not matter here. Let them do whatever they want,” he remarked.
