Nitish Kumar reviews development works in East Champaran; inspects Kesaria tourist facility centre and welfare schemes.

Patna, December 11, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday visited East Champaran district and reviewed several key development projects, including the under-construction tourist facility centre at Kesaria.

He inspected the ongoing work and directed officials to ensure its speedy completion, noting that the Kesaria Buddhist Stupa attracts a large number of domestic and international visitors.

Nitish Kumar said the new Tourist Facility Centre will enhance the experience of visitors and help them learn about Buddhism and Bihar’s historic legacy.

The facility will feature a 5D theatre, with 48-seat capacity, frames depicting Buddhist teaching, a Bihar pavilion showcasing the state’s cultural heritage, more than 90 sculptures, open-air artistic installations, and eight replicas of historical Buddhist monuments at the four corners of the complex.

During his visit, the chief minister also inspected the Kesaria Stupa complex, reiterating that the state government has taken several steps for its protection and development.

He instructed officials to maintain the site properly and ensure adequate facilities for tourists.

Nitish Kumar distributed Ayushman cards:

Nitish Kumar later visited the Health and Wellness Centre in Tajpur village, where he reviewed medical services, cleanliness, availability of medicines, and vaccination facilities.

He interacted with doctors and beneficiaries and distributed Ayushman Bharat Cards.

He directed that the road leading to the centre be widened to ensure easier access for patients.

The Chief Minister also visited stalls set up at the higher secondary ground in Tajpur, where he interacted with villagers, Jeevika Didis, cooks, Anganwadi and Mamata workers, Vikas Mitras, Talimi Markaz workers, and Tola Sewaks.

He encouraged them to continue working diligently and assured them that the government is committed to addressing their needs.

Visit to Kasturba Gandhi residential school:

Nitish Kumar inspected the facilities at the Kasturba Gandhi residential school, interacted with hostel students, and encouraged them to focus on studies.

He inaugurated and reviewed the school library, assuring the students that the government is committed to their education and overall development.

At the government middle school (Boys) in Kesaria, the Chief Minister observed a musical prayer, a science exhibition, sword-fighting demonstrations, sports activities, and a cultural dance performance by deaf and mute girls.

He expressed happiness over the students’ talents and directed the school administration to ensure adequate support for sports and extracurricular activities alongside academics.
