New Delhi June 6: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is ready for the hard bargain with the BJP for the cabinet of the Narendra Modi government.

Nitish Kumar has been in the center of attraction ever since JD(U) won 12 seats in Bihar and as BJP is unable to form the government on his own, the importance of Nitish Kumar has increased in the current situation. Even the media is paying more attention to him.

On Thursday, JD(U) leaders started gathering at his Delhi residence to meet him.

Leaders in the rank of Lalan Singh, Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Jha, Ramnath Thakur, KC Tyagi, Khiru Mahato, Alok Kumar Suman, Ashok Chaudhary, former MP Mahabali Singh and others reached there and met with the chief minister.

It is being said that the leaders reached to meet Nitish Kumar to congratulate the victory of 12 JD(U) MPs in Bihar. But if sources are to be believed, further strategy has also been discussed. Since Nitish Kumar’s party is in the role of kingmaker with 12 MPs. In such a situation, there has been a discussion on how the party should participate in the cabinet expansion of the NDA government.

Some of the 12 JDU MPs who won the election have already reached Delhi while others will reach there by 4 pm on Thursday. They will attend the NDA meeting on Friday.

It is being said that Nitish Kumar is batting on the front foot. He will remain in the NDA government but is also demanding heavy ministry portfolios including Home Ministry or Defence Ministry. Nitish Kumar is also eyeing on railway ministry. In such a situation, talks have been held on how to bargain. However, no one is ready to speak about it.

“The meeting of JD(U) parliamentary board will be held on Friday at 10:30 am in New Delhi. We are with NDA and we will remain with NDA,” said Lalan Singh, the JD(U) MP from Munger.
