Nitish Kumar inspected an under-construction medical college in Arrah.

Patna, September 5: Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar visited Bhojpur district to inspect the under-construction Government Medical College and Hospital in Arrah’s Zero Mile area on Thursday.

He directed the officials to the completion of the project by Independence Day 2025.

Designed to be earthquake-resistance, this medical college will address, the healthcare needs of Bhojpur residents, who currently rely on Patna hospitals for critical care.

This college will benefit the Shahabad division, reducing the need for long-distance travel to advance treatments.

Additionally, Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects. These projects worth Rs 41.63 crore and Rs 62.66 crore respectively, focus on healthcare, education and infrastructure.

Among them were new health centers in Agiao, Garahni and Koilwar blocks, primary health centers in Azimabad Kirkiri, and health and wellness centers in rural Panchayats.

Nitish Kumar also inaugurated a school and Panchayat building in Bakhorapur village, enhancing educational and administrative infrastructure.

Nitish Kumar’s visits highlighted a strong focus on social welfare, as he distributed house keys to 105 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Building Construction Program, and student credit cards to 110 students.

To combat unemployment, the government allocated Rs 1.84 crore to 600 individuals supporting local entrepreneurship and employment.

These efforts underscore the Bihar government’s priority on healthcare, education, housing and job creation as part of its comprehensive development plan for the state.
