Patna January 14, 2025: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Misa Bharti, and Patliputra MP made a significant statement regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s potential return to the Grand Alliance.
When questioned about Nitish Kumar re-joining the Grand Alliance, Misa Bharti responded with optimism, saying, “Nothing is impossible in politics.”
With assembly elections on the horizon, she noted that auspicious work begins only after Kharmas, which traditionally marks the end of an inauspicious period.
Misa Bharti pointed out family tie with Nitish Kumar:
Misa Bharti compared Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav to younger and elder brothers, respectively. She emphasized that in a family, no gate is ever closed for anyone, signaling that personal relationships between the two leaders are respected, despite political differences.
She added, “Nitish Kumar is our family member. He is uncle; so we have no enmity with him.”
Her statement that “nothing is impossible in politics” suggests an openness to realignments or negotiations in the lead-up to the elections. Bihar’s political landscape is known for its volatility, and alliances often shift based on changing dynamics.
Misa Bharti also clarified that she has no enmity with prominent national figures such as Prime Minister Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah, emphasizing that politics is not driven by personal animosities.
Tej Pratap Yadav’s firm stance:
Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, has clearly expressed his opposition to Nitish Kumar’s re-entry into the RJD-led alliance.
He explicitly stated that he would not allow Nitish Kumar to enter Rabri Devi’s residence (Located at 10 Circular Road).
This statement signifies that Tej Pratap Yadav is firmly against any political reconciliation with Nitish Kumar, despite the diplomatic overtures from his sister, Misa Bharti.
Tejashwi Yadav, the younger son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, had earlier expressed a similar sentiment. He remarked that joining hands with Nitish Kumar would be like “shooting oneself in the foot,” further solidifying the RJD’s cautious or negative stance toward any alliance with the Chief Minister.
Tejaswi’s comment underscores the RJD’s reluctance to reunite with Nitish Kumar after his departure from the Grand Alliance in 2017 and 2024.
