Lok Sabha MP Veena Devi supported a special status for Bihar
Patna June 7: The demand for special status for Bihar started once again and the alliance partners of NDA spearheading this issue.
Before the formation of the NDA government in the centre, such demands could be a big headache for PM Narendra Modi in the coming days.
JD (U) senior leader and spokesperson KC Tyagi supported this issue on Thursday and Chirag Paswan’s party has also made its stand clear. The party’s newly elected MP from the Vaishali seat Veena Devi said that everyone will be in support of Bihar getting the status of a special state.
“We will want the well-being of Bihar because we are residents of Bihar,” Veena Devi said.
However, she clearly said that her party has not demanded anything from the new government.
“Chirag Paswan is our national president of the party and is watching everything,” She said.
Earlier in the day, a meeting of the LJPRV’s Parliamentary Party was held at the residence of Chirag Paswan in New Delhi and all five MPs were present in this meeting.
After the meeting, all the newly elected MPs of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) elected the party’s national president Chirag Paswan as the leader of the parliamentary party. LJPRV contested the Lok Sabha election in Samastipur, Khagaria, Hajipur, Vaishali and Jamui and won all of them.
The leaders of Bihar have a longstanding demand for the special status of the state. On Thursday, senior JDU leader KC Tyagi also supported it. Tejashwi Yadav has also said that Bihar should get special state status. RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha and newly elected MP from Buxar Sudhakar Singh have also said that JD (U) should join the government only when special state status and special package are fulfilled.
