Patna, April 15, 2024: JD-U MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar on Monday targeted RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of blocking the rise of alternative leaders in Bihar to ensure that no one challenges his son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

JDU leader criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav after Kanhaiya Kumar’s candidature from Delhi:

His remarks came a day after Congress announced Kanhaiya Kumar as its candidate from the North East Delhi constituency for the Lok Sabha elections.

“Kanhaiya Kumar had contested from Begusarai in 2019, but RJD deliberately fielded Tanvir Hasan, whose presence cut into Kanhaiya’s votes and led to his defeat,” Neeraj Kumar alleged.

Neeraj Kumar also highlighted the Pappu Yadav episode:

He further pointed to the case of Pappu Yadav, who has recently joined the Congress. “Lalu Prasad Yadav had met Pappu Yadav before his joining in Delhi, but later denied him the ticket from Purnea. By doing so, he blocked both Pappu Yadav and Kanhaiya Kumar’s chances of contesting from Bihar.”

According to the JD-U leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s strategy is clear, “he does not want could challenge Tejashwi Yadav. By denying tickets in Begusarai and Purnea, he also ensured that Congress could not claim those seats. Congress has no strength before Lalu Prasad in Bihar.”
