JD-U announced the names of candidates for Lok Sabha election 2024.

Patna, March 24, 2024: The Janata Dal United (JD-U) released the list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Bihar.

The announcement was made by the party’s national vice president, Bashistha Narain Singh, in Patna, in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, former national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh and other senior leaders.

List of JD-U candidates:

The party has given ticket to Sunil Kumar from Valmiki Nagar, Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi from Jehanabad, Kaushalendra Kumar from Nalanda, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh from Munger, Dr Alok Kumar Suman from Gopalganj, Rampreet Mandal from Jhanjharpur, Dulal Chandra Goshwami from Katihar, Ajay Kumar Mandal from Bhagalpur, Devesh Chandra Thakur from Sitamarhi, Muzahid Alam from Kishanganj, Giridhari Yadav from Banka, Dinesh Chandra Yadav from Madhepura, Santosh Kushwaha from Purnea, Dileshwar Kamat from Supaul, Lovely Anand from Sheohar and Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha from Siwan.

JD-U has given a ticket to Dinesh Chandra Thakur, who replaces sitting MP Sunil Kumar Pintu in Sitamarhi, and Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha replaces sitting MP Kavita Singh in Siwan.

Caste representation:

Of the 16 JD-U candidates, 5 are from Extremely Backward Caste (EBCs), 6 from Other Backward Castes (OBCs), 3 from Upper Castes, 1 Dalit and 1 Muslim candidate.

As per the seat-sharing adjustment in NDA, JD-U is contesting on 16 seats, BJP is on 17 seats, LJPRV on 5 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha on 1 seat and Rashtriya Lok Morcha on 1 seat.

Lalan Singh, the JD-U candidate from Munger, said, “The NDA is united and we have smoothly finalized the seat-sharing formula in Bihar, unlike the Grand Alliance, where infighting continues.”
