JD-U announced the names of candidates for Lok Sabha election 2024.

Patna: Janata Dal United (JD-U) announced the names of candidates for the Lok Sabha election 2024 on Saturday.

Bashistha Narain Singh, the national vice president of JD-U announced the names of the candidates, in presence of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, former national president Lalan Singh and other leaders in Patna on Sunday.

While announcing the name of the candidates, Singh said that Sunil Kumar will contest from Valmiki Nagar, Chandeshwar Prasad  is the JD-U candidate from Jahanabad, Kaushalendra Kumar (Nalanda), Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh (Munger), Dr Alok Kumar Suman (Gopalganj), Rampreet Mandal (Jhanjharpur), Dulal Chandra Goswami (Katihar), Ajay Kumar Mandal (Bhagalpur), Devesh Chandra Thakur (Sitamarhi), Muzahid Alam (Kishanganj), Giridhari Yadav (Banka), Dinesh Chandra Yadav (Madhepura), Santosh Kushwaha (Purnea), Dileshwar Kamat (Supaul), , Lovely Anand (Sheohar) and Vijaylaxmi Kushwaha (Siwan).

The party has cut the tickets of two sitting MP Sunil Kumar Pintu from Sitamarhi and Kavita Singh of Siwan and given the ticket to Devesh Chandra Thakur and Vijaylaxmi respectively.

“The NDA is united and we have smoothly finalized the seat sharing formula in the state. On the other hand, fights among the parties in Mahagathbandhan are continuing in Bihar,” said Lalan Singh, who is contesting this election from Munger.

“We have finalized the names and also discussed with BJP leaders as well,” said Sanjay Kumar Jha, the Rajya Sabha MP of JD-U.

JD-U is fighting the Lok Sabha election 2024 under NDA and contesting on 16 seats in Bihar. Among 16 candidates, 5 belong to the extremely backward castes, 6 candidates from other backward castes, 3 upper castes, 1 Dalit and 1 Muslim candidate.

BJP, the senior partner of NDA is contesting on 17 seats, LJPR on 5 seats, HAM-S on 1 and RLM on 1 seat in Bihar.
