Iftar parties in Bihar highlight political undercurrents and social harmony ahead of the 2025 poll.

Patna March 24, 2025:Bihar’s political landscape witnessed a series of Iftar parties organized by prominent leaders, reflecting not just religious unity but also the ongoing political dynamics in the state.
Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Iftar party at Abdul Bari Siddiqui’s Residence:
Traditionally held at the Rabri Devi residence on 10 Circular Road, this year, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav shifted the venue to 12 Strand Road, the official residence of senior party leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui
Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, and his son Tejashwi Yadav attended with several RJD leaders.

Lalu Prasad personally sent out invitation letters; however, the absence of top Congress leaders raised eyebrows.
Although Congress MLAs Pratima Das, Vijendra Chaudhary and Ajaula Haq attended, key leaders like Krishna Allavaru (Bihar in-charge) and Rajesh Kumar (state Congress President) were notably absent.
This absence fueled speculation about potential heifers within the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance).

Chirag Paswan’s Iftar party welcomes Nitish Kumar:
LJP (RV) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan also organized an Iftar event at the party’s office on Airport Road, Patna.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended with Chirag warmly welcoming him by touching his feet- a gesture that grabbed attention.
Chirag was also spotted with a tilak on his forehead, signifying religious inclusivity.

Key leaders from NDA including Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Rural Work Minister Ashik Choudhary, and Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, showcased unity by attending.
Earlier on Sunday, Nitish Kumar held his own Iftar party, which saw significant participation from the minority community.
However, certain groups boycotted the event, hinting at underlying discontent.
Mukesh Sahani’s message of social harmony in Muzaffarpur:
Vikasheel Insaan party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani held an Iftar party in Dumri Jaimal, Paru block of Muzaffarpur, emphasizing unity and brotherhood.
Former MP Sahabuddin’s son Osama Saheb attended the event, praying for peace and prosperity in Bihar.

Mukesh Sahani stressed that this holy month symbolizes unity across castes and religions.
“The politics of hatred will not last long. Rain doesn’t last forever; you need an umbrella to get through it,” Sahani remarked.
He also encouraged people to start preparing for the upcoming assembly elections, urging them to maintain social harmony.
