Great infra boost: Nitin Gadkari announced to building of Bihar’s road similar to the USA in 4 years.

Patna November 21, 2024: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, during his one-day visit to Gaya, Bihar, announced ambitious plans to upgrade Bihar’s road infrastructure to match the standards of the United States in the next four years.

Speaking at the Mahabodhi Convention Centre in Bodh Gaya, he emphasized the transformative impact of enhanced road connectivity on the state’s economic development.

Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation and inaugurated multiple projects:

Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple National Highway (NH) projects totaling Rs.3,700 crore and outlined future road projects aimed at accelerating Bihar’s growth. One of the major projects was the third phase of the Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli 4-lane  national highway.

Gadkari pledged to make Bihar’s national highways as modern and efficient as those in the U.S., asserting that the government is committed to delivering on its promise with sufficient funding and determination.

“It is our promise that in the next 4 years, we will make the national highway of Bihar like the national highway of America,” Gadkari stated.

“There is no shortage of money, only a shortage of honest officers and leaders. We do what we say—we are not among the leaders who lie,” he stated, reinforcing the government’s commitment to quality infrastructure.

At the event organized by the National Highways Authority of India  (NHAI), Gadkari inaugurated 6 NH projects. These projects, costing Rs. 3,700 crore, include major initiatives to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time within the state.

Nitin Gadkari also promised to invest Rs.5 lakh crore to develop road networks in Bihar:

During the visit of Nitin Gadkari, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha proposed the Mokama-Munger four-lane road for approval and Nitin Gadkari immediately announced to construction of a 90-km four-lane road from Mokama to Munger, including connectivity to the religious  Ashok Dham, with a budget of Rs.5,100 crore.

Approval of an 11-km four-lane bridge and 19-km approach road over the Gandak river near Bettiah, costing Rs.2,500 crore.

He emphasized that future projects worth Rs 5 lakh crore are to be completed by the end of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term.

Gadkari highlighted that robust road connectivity is crucial for improving Bihar’s economic conditions, integrating rural areas with markets, and supporting industrial and tourism development.

“Roads are the lifelines of progress, “ he said, promising continued priority to Bihar’s development.

Nitin Gadkari’s announcement reflects the central government’s push to improve connectivity and economic opportunities in Bihar through major road projects.

This ambitious promise aligns with Nitin Gadkari’s reputation for delivering transformative infrastructure initiatives across India.

This series of infrastructure projects is expected to reshape Bihar’s road network, enhance regional connectivity, and boost the state’s socio-economic development in the coming years.
