Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi will contest from Gaya in LS poll 2024.
Patna: After RJD, Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) announced its sole candidate to contest Lok Sabha election 2024 from Bihar’s Gaya seat on Thursday. The party has given the ticket to HAM-S patron Jitan Ram Manjhi for this seat.
As per the seat sharing formula of NDA, HAM-S bagged one seat of Gaya. HAM-S national president Santosh Kumar Suman handed over the party symbol to former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday. He is expected to file the nomination for the Lok Sabha election on March 28.
As per the notification of the election commission, the polling for the first phase of four Lok Sabha seats such as Aurangabad, Jamui (Reserved), Gaya (Reserved) and Nawada will be held on April 19.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, RJD gave the ticket to Kumar Sarvjeet to contest the Lok Sabha election 2024 from Gaya. He will challenge Jitan Ram Manjhi from this seat. Besides him, Vijay Kumar Manjhi, the sitting MP of Gaya is another candidate who may contest from this seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
