Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi will contest from Gaya in LS poll 2024.

Patna, March 21, 2024: The Hindustani Awam Morcha—Secular (HAM-S) on Thursday announced its sole candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, fielding party patron and former chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi from the Gaya (Reserved) constituency.

HAM-S national president handed over the party symbol to Jitan Ram Manjhi:

HAM-S national president Santosh Kumar Suman handed over the party symbol to Manjhi, who is expected to file his nomination papers on March 28. Under the NDA seat-sharing formula, HAM-s was allotted the Gaya seat.

The contest in Gaya is set to be a triangular fight:

The contest in Gaya is set to be a high-profile triangular fight. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has nominated Kumar Sarvjeet, while sitting MP Vijay Kumar Manjhi is also likely to enter the fray.

According to the Election Commission, polling for the first phase in Bihar—covering Aurangabad, Jamui (SC), Gaya (SC) and Nawada—will be held on April 19.
