Fire broke out in an AC coach of a Holi special train in Bihar’s Bhojpur district.

Patna: Massive fire broke out in an AC coach of a Lokmanya Terminus (Mumbai) bound Holi special train (01410) in Bihar’s Karisath railway station in Bhojpur district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The Incident occurred around 12.15 am at Karisath railway station located between Patna-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction railway section.
The train departed from Danapur railway station at 11.15 pm on Tuesday and reached Arrah Junction at 12.05. When the train reached Karisath railway station which is just 8 KM away from Arrah Junction, fire broke out in a M-9 AC coach. An official said that there were no passengers in the affected coach.
However, this incident has created panic among the passengers of other coaches. Many passengers of other coaches jumped from the train to save themselves. The speed of the train was slow and hence fire did not spread to other coaches.
The passengers informed the local police on DIAL 112 and GRP about the incident. District police, GRP and fire officials reached the spot and doused the flame. A large number of local villagers also assembled at the spot and helped police and fire brigade officials to douse the flame.
The railway officials cut the affected coach from the remaining train to minimize the damage. The remaining train was allowed to go to Lokmanya Tilak terminus (Mumbai). The train operation on the up line was disrupted for 5 hours on this route.
