Patna, April 19, 2024: Former Congress state president Madan Mohan Jha on Friday claimed that BJP leaders are nervous after the completion of the first phase of polling in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress mocked the BJP over its slogan of  400 Paar:

Taking a jibe at the BJP’s slogan of “400 paar” and its target of winning all 40 seats in Bihar, Jha said, “If they are so confident, then why are  they roaming here and there, doing rallies” Why are they not staying at home” Actually, they are nervous in this election and hence made 400 seats a catchphrase for themselves.”

Questioning the BJP’s projections, Jha remarked, “How could they know they are winning 400 seats? When we contest elections, we ourselves don’t know whom the public has blessed.”

On the issue of Congress candidates in Bihar whose names are yet to be declared, Jha clarified that the process is in its final stage.

“The names have been finalized, but approval from the party’s top leadership is pending. It will be announced soon,” he said.

Congress leader says derogatory remarks should not be used:

Jha also responded to reports of derogatory remarks against Chirag Paswan at a rally addressed by Tejashwi Yadav.

“I don’t know who has said what. People have the right to protest against any political party or leader, but derogatory language should not be used,” he cautioned.

The Congress leader’s remarks came a day after the first round of polling, which saw voting in several constituencies of Bihar.
