CPI will announce the names of candidates for the Lok Sabha poll on Friday.

Patna, March 21, 2024: After the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) announced its first list of four candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, CPI, one of the key allies of the Mahagathbandhan rushed to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence on Thursday to finalize the seat-sharing arrangement.

CPI general secretary D Raja met Lalu and confirmed that his party would soon reveal its nominees.

“We have discussed the seat-sharing formula of The Mahagathbandhan, and I will announce the names of the candidates of my party on Friday,” D Raja said after the meeting.

Congress state president Akhilesh Singh also held a separate meeting with Lalu amid hectic negotiations.

Earlier, the RJD released its first list of candidates for the April 19 first phase of polling naming:

Kumar Sarvjeet—Gaya, Abhay Kushwaha—Aurangabad, Shrawan Kushwaha—Nawada, Archana Ravidas—Jamui. The meeting underscored the Mahagathbandhan’s push to quickly seal a seat-sharing pact as the election scheduled tightens.
