CM Nitish Kumar’s on-stage antics in Darbhanga leave the crowd in splits.

Patna, June 5, 2025: In an unexpected and amusing moment that quickly became the highlight of a public gathering, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar left the audience laughing when he looked for the District Magistrate (DM) of Darbhanga, Kaushal Kishore, from the stage, and later, asked Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to stand up in an unusual tone.
The incident occurred during a Smriti Sabha (memorial gathering) held at Nehru Stadium, Darbhanga, in honor of Shaheed Suraj Narayan Singh.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and MPs.
During his address, CM Nitish Kumar accepted one of the five demands made by the public agreeing to install a statue of Shaheed Suraj Narayan Singh and to name a city square in his honor.

What caught everyone off guard was what followed next. Mid-speech, the Chief Minister suddenly paused and asked aloud, “Where is the DM?”
Promptly, DM Kaushal Kishore made his way to the stage from the back, visibly startled but smiling, and presented himself to CM Nitish Kumar.
Adding to the light-hearted moment, Nitish Kumar then turned towards his deputy, Samrat Choudhary, and in an oddly comical tone, said something that prompted the Deputy CM to get up from his chair, laughing along with the crowd.
The crowd left amused after Nitish Kumar’s remarks on DM and Deputy CM:
The entire exchange of CM’s unusual expressions, the surprised reactions of the DM and Deputy CM, and the cheerful spirit of the event had the audience in stitches. People captured the moment on their phones and shared it widely on social media, praising the rare glimpse of humor and spontaneity from the otherwise serious political gathering.
Message delivered with laughter:
While Nitish Kumar’s speech focused on honoring a martyr and addressing public demands, it was his candid and humorous interaction with officials on stage that stole the show offering a lighter moment.
