Chirag Paswan backs Nitish Kumar as 2025 CM face and criticized Congress and the INDIA bloc.

Patna April 16, 2025: Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan reaffirmed that Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Ministerial face of the NDA in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, amidst ongoing speculations and internal signals from alliance partners.
Speaking to media in Patna, Paswan stated emphatically: “ Who has doubt on the contest on the face of Nitish Kumar, and he will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar after the 2025 elections.”
The statement comes in the wake of comments made by Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, who recently projected Samrat Choudhary as the next CM candidate, creating buzz in political circles.
Although Choudhary has since clarified that Nitish Kumar will continue to lead, JDU appears to be taking no chances unveiling posters that read “25 se 30, Phir Se Nitish,” reinforcing its stand.
Chirag Paswan on National Herald Protests:
Chirag Paswan also targeted Congress leaders for their protest in Patna after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge sheet in the National Herald case involving Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
“If you are guilty, action will be taken no matter how big a leader you are or what family you belong to,” Paswan warned.
“Protesting to influence the investigation is not the right thing. No one is above the law.”
Commenting on the INDIA bloc’s upcoming meeting in Patna, Paswan called out the internal rifts and rivalries among alliance partners like RJD and Congress.
“There is a war among the alliance partners for supremacy. RJD wants to project Tejashwi Yadav as CM, but Congress is unwilling to compromise on seats or leadership,” Paswan stated.
He also highlighted Congress’s induction of Pappu Yadav, which has long been a point of contention for the RJD.
“If they manage to resolve their internal disputes during Thursday’s meeting, that itself will be a big achievement for them,” Paswan remarked.
Confidence in NDA’s Cohesion and Strength:
In contrast to the opposition, Paswan painted the NDA as a tightly-knit and strong alliance, confident of electoral victory.
“All five alliance partners are united. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are fulfilling their promises, and the NDA is steadily moving towards a big win in Bihar,” Paswan stated.
Response to Tejashwi Yadav’s End of NDA’s claim:
Chirag Paswan dismissed Tejashwi Yadav’s recent statement that the NDA government will fall in the next election.

“They’ve been saying this for years. What did they achieve in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections? Where is their blueprint for Bihar? They have no vision, no plan. Bihar is suffering because of them why should people trust them?” Paswan said.
