Patna, December 5, 2025: The final day of the winter session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Friday witnessed intense political turmoil, sharp taunts, and heated exchanges between the ruling NDA and the opposition Grand Alliance.
Tension escalated as soon as Energy Minister and senior BJP leader Bijendra Prasad Yadav began targeting the opposition benches.
A remark made by the minister further ignited the charged atmosphere.
Yadav asserted that no fodder scam took place during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s tenure and claimed that the government was fully capable of mobilizing resources for public welfare projects.
Bijendra Yadav raised the fodder scam in the Bihar Legislative Assembly:
However, the moment he mentioned the fodder scam, RJD MLAs erupted in loud protest, raising slogans and creating a ruckus in the Bihar Assembly.
The uproar intensified when Yadav began commenting on matters related to former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Agitated RJD MLAs stood up in unison, prompting an even sharper political confrontation.
Responding in a confrontational tone, Yadav warned, “If you speak too much, I will expose more.”

Amid the chaos, RJD MLA Alok Mehta accused the government of distributing Rs 10,000 each to 1.30 crore women before the Bihar Legislative Assembly election.
“I want to point out before the Assembly that Bihar has 6 crore women. Are the remaining women not entitled to the Rs 10,000? I also want to know when the government will give Rs 2 lakh, which it had promised before the election,” Mehta said.
His remarks triggered another wave of political confrontation, bringing the ruling parties and opposition head-to-head.
The RJD leader slammed the government, calling Bijendra Yadav’s comment provocative, while the ruling NDA accused the opposition of distracting from real issues and undermining the dignity of the House.
The Bihar Legislative Assembly witnessed a massive uproar over the Rs 10,000 distribution:
The confrontation spilled over into the Bihar Legislative Council as well.
RJD leaders launched fresh attacks on the ruling NDA over the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana (Women Employment Scheme), alleging that the government had essentially bought votes by distributing Rs 10,000 per beneficiary.
Opposition leaders, including Sunil Singh, Sandeep Saurabh and Urmila Thakur, continued to corner the government, labelling the scheme an election lollipop.
On the other hand, ruling party leaders Ashok Choudhary, Dilip Jaiswal and Neeraj Kumar hit back sharply, accusing the opposition of reckless allegations and warning them to improve their conduct or risk further damage to their credibility.
