Hero Cycles explores that expansion in Bihar would be a major industrialization push:

In a major development, Hero Cycles Director Abhishek Munjal and CEO Sanjay Singh met Bihar Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar on Thursday to discuss the company’s future expansion plans and potential investment opportunities in the state.

Hero Cycle already has a 12-acre manufacturing facility at the Mega Industrial Park, Bihta, in Patna district and reportedly reaffirmed its confidence in the ecosystem during the meeting.

Discussions focused on expansion opportunities in Bihar, long-term industrial investment, employment generation and strengthening manufacturing presence in the state.

Makhana processing unit comes up at Madhubani’s Lohat industrial area:

As part of Bihar’s growing emphasis on agro-based industries, Nath Trading is establishing a food processing unit at Industrial Area Lohat Phase-1.

This unit will focus on processing Makhana (Fox Nut), one of Bihar’s most iconic agricultural products, and is expected to strengthen the farm-to-market value chain while creating employment opportunities.

Officials said the project would improve value addition in agriculture, boost local livelihoods, and strengthen the state’s food-processing ecosystem.

Lohat Industrial area is located in Madhubani district, offering a golden opportunity with 93.46 acres of Industrial land ready for allocation. It is situated just 32 kms away from Darbhanga Airport. This strategic location is also closer to Nepal and offers good accessibility for businesses.

New luggage manufacturing unit in Muzaffarpur:

SINGHMOONCHI LLP is also setting up a modern manufacturing facility at the Industrial Estate, Muzaffarpur.

The unit will manufacture hard luggage (PP Shell products) and will be spread across approximately 1.02 acres.

Authorities believe the project will contribute to local industrial activity and employment generation.

The initiative is being viewed as another indicator of increasing investor confidence in the state’s manufacturing sector.

Furniture manufacturing unit planned at Motipur:

Meanwhile, Kanti Furniture is establishing a modern furniture manufacturing unit at Industrial Area Dumaria Motipur in Muzaffarpur district.

The project is expected to generate employment opportunities, boost regional economic activity, and expand Bihar’s manufacturing capabilities.

Officials said such investments are helping Bihar emerge as a competitive industrial destination.

BIADA allots land to 19 industrial units:

Earlier, the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) allotted 20.0-4 acres of land to 19 industrial units across multiple industrial zones in the state.

The allocations are expected to attract investment worth nearly Rs 284 crore and generate around 1,200 jobs.

The approvals were finalized during a meeting of the project clearance committee, chaired by Industrial Secretary and BIADA Managing Director Kundan Kumar.

Project across multiple sectors:

The newly approved projects span several sectors, including food processing, footwear, electronics, textiles, plastics, compressed biogas, and general manufacturing.

Key companies that received allotment include Shrinath Biofuels, Rashirishu Group, Lubna Shoes, and Sharv Enterprises.

Officials stated that these initiatives are expected to strengthen the state’s diversified industrial base while accelerating inclusive economic growth across the state.

The state government also announced the release of the May edition of the Bihar Bhavan Newsletter, featuring updates related to industrial initiatives, government reforms, policy decisions, cultural engagements, and investment development of Bihar.

The recent flurry of industrial announcements indicates the state government’s broader strategy of positioning the state as an emerging manufacturing and investment hub in eastern India.
