Patna June 27: While Sanjay Paswan was not pleased with the BJP performance in the Lok Sabha in Bihar, former union minister and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey also expressed his anguish on Thursday.
He opened the front against BJP state president Samrat Choudhary and said that the post of state president post should be owned by a leader who originally belonged to the BJP.
“We can never tolerate the goods from other places to import in the party. BJP was nurtured by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. We can never leave our core principle. It is very important to have an original member of the party in the post of state president,” Choubey said in Bihar Bhagalpur district without taking the name of Samrat Choudhary.
“I firmly believe that the post of president, whether it is district, state, province or centre, should be occupied by a member of the organization,” Choubey said.
Choubey was elected twice in 2014 and 2019, but the party refused to give the ticket in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election. The party had given Mithilesh Tiwari to contest from Buxar and he lost to RJD’s Sudhakar Singh.
Samrat Choudhary started his political career from RJD, then went to JD (U) and HAMS before joint BJP. He is currently holding two posts of Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar as well as state president of the party. The selection of BJP state president takes place every two years and Samrat Choudhary was selected for the post in March 2023.
Adding that, the BJP should contest the assembly election 2025 on its own in Bihar.
“It is my own wish and I informed the party about the same. The NDA government should be formed in Bihar under the leadership of the BJP. Every worker should have to start working on this line from now onwards,” he said.
“We were taking Nitish Kumar along with us and will continue to take him along in the future as well. The selection of the chief minister should be decided after the election,” Choubey said.
