Arun Bharti hinted Chirag Paswan may enter Bihar assembly polls in 2025.

Patna, April 23, 2025: Political circles in Bihar are abuzz with speculation after Jamui MP Arun Bharti hinted that Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan may contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The revelation came during Arun Bharti’s visit to Munger, where he declared Chirag the “future of Bihar,” sparking a new wave of political discourse in the state.
Arun Bharti said Chirag likely to contest Bihar assembly polls:
Speaking to the media, Arun Bharti, who is also Chirag’s brother-in-law, said, “The public wants to see Chirag Paswan in a bigger role. Party workers and the common people want him to contest the assembly elections.” He emphasized that if alliance partners reach a consensus, party cadres would formally urge Chirag to participate in the 2025 polls.
Arun Bharti added that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is actively preparing to contest all 243 assembly seats, though it remains a committed member of the NDA.
“We will fully support our alliance partners where they contest, but we will proceed strategically on the seats allocated to us,” he noted.
Discussion on seat-sharing and coalition dynamics are ongoing and expected to intensify as elections approach.
Opposition leaders criticized Chirag Paswan:
However, Chirag’s potential candidacy has drawn sharp criticism from political rivals.
Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani took a direct swipe questioning his leadership and comparing him unfavorably to his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan.
“Ram Vilas Paswan was a bold leader who stood up for Dalits, EBCs and OBCs. He even brought down the Vajpayee government to uphold his principles. Chirag, however, does not have that courage,” Sahani remarked.

The war of words underscores the evolving political landscape in Bihar as parties gear up for a highly competitive 2025 election season.
Chirag Paswan’s next move is now being closely watched, with the potential to influence alliance strategies and voter sentiment across the state.
