Prashant Kishor kicks off 120-day Bihar Badlaav Yatra from JP’s birthplace and calls for systemic change.

Patna May 20, 2025: Jan Suraj Party curator Prashant Kishor launched the ambitious ‘Bihar Badlaav Yatra’ on Tuesday from Sitabdiara, the birthplace of Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan, the architect of the Total Revolution.

The state-wide aims to cover all 243 assembly constituencies over the next 120 days, with the goal of establishing direct contact with citizens and building momentum of systemic change in Bihar.

The initiative is a part of Prashant Kishor’s continued effort to present Jan Suraj as a credible political alternative in the upcoming Bihar assembly election.

Speaking at the launch, he said the yatra is about awakening public consciousness and creating a roadmap for transforming Bihar from one of the lagging states into a leading state of the nation.

Prashant Kishor paid tribute to the martyr:

Before heading to Sitabdiara, Prashant Kishor visited the home of martyr Mohammad Imtiaz in Saran who lost his life in Operation Sindoor, and paid heartfelt tribute to his sacrifice.

In Sitabdiara, Kishor garlanded the statue of Jayprakash Narayan (JP) and visited his ancestral home.

Visibly moved by its dilapidation condition, he criticized the political establishment for neglecting the legacy of JP.

“In the name of JP, many run air-conditioned homes, yet his birthplace lies in darkness. If needed, we are ready to donate funds to restore electricity in JP’s house,” Kishor said.

He added that he did not come to Sitabdiara to merely to witness decay, but to draw inspiration from JP’s revolutionary ideals.

“Seeing the condition of the place only strengthens my resolve—Bihar needs change, and that change must start now.”

A journey of dialogue and transformation:

The Bihar Badlaav Yatra will include interactive sessions, community meetings, and public dialogues to engage citizens on the issues plaguing the state—from unemployment to education, healthcare and governance.

Kishor emphasized that the journey is not just about elections but about building a new Bihar rooted in transparency, accountability and inclusive development.

This Yatra is not for gaining power, but to give people power—through awareness, participation and reform,” he said.

Jan Suraj Party hopes to leverage the Yatra to galvanize youth, women, farmers and common citizens around its vision of system-led transformation.
