Patna, April 10, 2024: A youth was shot dead by Armed men unidentified assailants in Patna’s Basghat locality under the jurisdiction of the Buddha Colony police station on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Uday Rai, a resident of Buddha Colony.
He sustained a bullet injury to the back of his head.
Local residents rescued the youth after armed men executed the incident:
Locals and passersby immediately rushed him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where doctors provided preliminary treatment and referred him to Ruban Hospital.
However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Personal enmity could be the reason for the incident:
Krishna Murari Prasad, SDPO (Law and Order), Patna, confirmed the incident, stating that personal enmity appears to be the motive behind the killing.
“The Armed men came on a bike and shot him in the head from behind. He was taken to PMCH and later referred to Ruban Hospital, where he died on the way,” Prasad said.
He added that the victim’s family has named a few individuals with whom Rai had a previous enmity.
“We have recorded the statements of the family members, and some suspects have been identified. Raids are underway to arrest them,” the SDPO said.
An FIR has been registered at Buddha Colony police station, and the body has been sent to PMCH for post-mortem examination.
