Armed men killed a youth in Patna.

Patna: Unidentified assailants gunned down a youth in Patna’s Basghat locality under Buddha Colony police station on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Uday Rai, a resident of Buddha colony. He sustained a gunshot injury on the back side of the head. The local residents and passersby admitted him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where doctors referred him to Ruban hospital after preliminary treatment. The victim succumbed on the way to Ruban hospital.

Krishna Murari Prasad, SDPO law and order Patna confirms the incident. He said that personal enmity was the reason appeared during the preliminary investigation of the incident.

“The attackers came on the bike and shot him on his head from behind. He was initially taken to PMCH where doctors referred him to Ruban hospital. He succumbed on the way to Ruban hospital,” Prasad said.

“We have taken the statements of deceased family members. They pointed out personal enmity with another person. We have names of some suspects. We are currently raiding on their hideouts. They will be arrested soon,” Prasad said.

An FIR has been registered in Buddha Colony police station and the dead body was sent to PMCH for postmortem.
