A BDO mowed two women police personnel in Kaimur.

Patna May 31: A Block Development Officer (BDO) mowed two women police personnel in Bihar’s Kaimur district in the wee hours of Friday.

Lalit Mohan Sharma, the SP of Kaimur district said that the alleged officer was in a drunken stage. He was booked under rash and negligent driving as well as under relevant sections of the Liquor Prohibition Act.

“We have conducted the medical examination of the accused and alcohol was found in his body. We have arrested him. Law is equal for all,” Sharma said.

The victims, an ASI rank officer and a constable were admitted to BHU Medical College and Hospital Varanasi and are under the observation of doctors.

The incident occurred at the Kewa canal under Chaipur police station in the district. The alleged BDO named Brij Bhushan Kumar was travelling in his private vehicle and was returning from Bhabhua to Chainpur. When he was signaled by the police personnel at Kewa Canal, Kumar, instead of stopping the vehicle, sped away in a bid to flee from the spot and mowed two police personnel.

The alleged BDO was deployed at Chainpur block development officer.
