Tejashwi Yadav attacked the double-engine government of Bihar over frequent bridge collapses
Patna June 29: After 5 bridges collapsed in Bihar in the last 11 days, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav slammed the double-engine government led by CM Nitish Kumar in the state. He said that the incidents of bridge collapse exposed the good governance model of Nitish Kumar.
The statement of Tejashwi Yadav came after five bridges collapsed back to back in Araria, Siwan, East Champaran, Kishanganj and Madhubani in the last 11 days.
While uploading a post on his social media platform X, he said: “Thousands of crores of rupees submerged in water and people staying in power are not saying it corruption (Bhrastachar). For them, it is etiquette (Shistachar). Five bridges have collapsed since June 18. Shockingly, the leaders of NDA who claimed for good governance are not opening their mouths.”
A girder of an under-construction road bridge collapsed in Bihar’s Madhubani district on Friday evening. The construction of the bridge was underway on the Bhutahi Balan River at Lalwarhi village under the Madhepur block of Madhubani district and the installation of the girder was completed two days ago.
This was the fifth incident of bridge collapse in the last 11 days in Bihar. Earlier, a bridge worth Rs 12 crore on the Bakra river in Sikti block of Araria district collapsed on June 18. On June 22, the bridge built on the canal connecting Daraunda and Maharajganj blocks in Siwan collapsed. The third incident of bridge collapse came to light in the Ghodasahan block of East Champaran on June 23 and a 70-meter-long bridge collapsed in Kishanganj on June 27.
