Patna, May 2, 2024: RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday took a dig at the BJP leaders, saying they are being “insulted by the public” and have now started echoing his promise of providing jobs.

His remarks came a day after Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that the NDA government would create 10 lakh jobs in the next one year.

BJP leaders are inspired by my stand, says Tejashwi Yadav:

“When those people are going to ask for votes, they are getting insulted. That’s why now they come to our line. When I was talking about 10 lakh jobs, they used to say ‘where will you get it from?’ Now, these people are repeating my lines on jobs,” Tejashwi Yadav said while addressing an election rally.

The RJD leader claimed that people have become more aware and will deliver a surprising verdict this time.

“People have become smarter now. It doesn’t matter whether you talk about jobs or not. This time, surprising results will be seen in the country,” he said.

Earlier on Wednesday night, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary had promised that the NDA government would provide 10 lakh jobs within a year.

Reacting to that, Tejashwi Yadav reminded the crowd that the idea originated from him during the 2020 Assembly election campaign.

“I want to ask BJP leaders who had talked about 10 lakh jobs in Bihar for the first time. It was me, during the 2020 election. In our 17-month tenure, we gave 5 lakh government jobs and paved the way for 3 lakh more. So, in the true sense, we created 8 lakh jobs,” Yadav said.

The RJD leader dismissed the BJP’s claim:

The RJD leader also dismissed the BJP’s claim that it would win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.

“When BJP leaders go on the ground, they are facing reality. This time, the BJP will face a whitewash. People of Bihar will teach them a lesson. They gave the BJP 39 seats out of 40 in 2019 and 31 seats in 2014—yet what has Bihar received in return?” he asked.
