Patna, November 6, 2025: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, appealed to voters to remain vigilant during polling in Bihar and alleged that the BJP would attempt to steal votes.

Addressing a rally in the Kasba Assembly constituency of Purnea, Gandhi said, “The BJP will try to steal votes at the polling booths, but you must stay alert and not allow any rigging. They did the same in Haryana. We have presented crystal-clear evidence at our press conference on Wednesday, and we appeal to the people not to allow the same in Bihar.”

The second phase of the campaign is underway, with Rahul Gandhi holding multiple rallies in Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi campaigned for the Congress candidate in Purnea:

In Purnea, an emotional moment was witnessed when Rahul Gandhi campaigned for the Congress candidate Irfat Alam, the son of a postman, who is contesting the Kasba Assembly constituency.

Gandhi said he had personally pushed for Alam’s candidature.

Alam, who broke down while welcoming the Congress leader, said Bihar needs a racehorse, not a wedding procession horse, adding that the ticket had come as a surprise for him.

Rahul Gandhi replied that Alam’s father had worked hard all his life, and that his son would now get an opportunity to serve the people.

Rahul Gandhi also spoke on farmers’ issues, pointing towards a garland of Makhana (Fox nut) in the state. He said makhana sells at very high prices abroad, but Bihar farmers do not receive fair returns.

“You have to work for these farmers and ensure they get fair value for Makhana,” he told Alam.

Rahul Gandhi promised for world-class university in Bihar:

The Congress leader also reiterated his promise to build a world-class university in Bihar.

“My promise is, the world’s best university will be built in Bihar. The future of Bihar’s youth will be built from here. Nalanda was once the greatest university in the world; we will bring back its old glory,” he said.
