Patna, April 28, 2024: Amid the high-voltage Lok Sabha campaign in Bihar, villagers of Darbhanga showed black flags at the BJP’s sitting MP and candidate from Darbhanga, Gopal JI Thakur, on Sunday.
It was an embarrassing situation for him when villagers in Godiyari village of Hanuman Nagar block protested against him with black flags and asked him to go back.
Black flags waved in protest of the MP’s ignorance of local issues:
A video of the incident, which surfaced on social media on Sunday, shows Gopal Ji Thakur riding as a pillion passenger on a bike while locals waved black flags and chanted slogans of protest.
Facing strong opposition, the BJP leader reportedly passed through the area without stopping to interact with the villagers.
Local villagers were upset with the MP, alleging that he had failed to visit the village in the past five years, despite repeated demands to address local issues.
BJP MP’s election campaign:
Gopal Ji Thakur is seeking the support of local villagers of the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat, where he is contesting against RJD candidate Lalit Yadav.
