Patna, July 14, 2025: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and the RJD over alleged nepotism, accusing them of promoting dynastic politics in the country and the state.
Taking a dig at the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who has called for a meeting of the party in Delhi to discuss strategy on Bihar election, Sinha said, “It is unfortunate that there is a leader of opposition like Rahul Gandhi in India and Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar, both are the princes of Jungle Raj and corruption.”

He alleged that Congress, Tejashwi Yadav, and the entire opposition are engaged in the politics of nepotism, while the state government remains focused on development and law and order.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the Mines and Geology portfolio, held a review meeting regarding the sand mining operations in Bihar, with the state preparing to resume sand extraction from rivers from October.
During the meeting, Sinha reviewed the status of sand ghats (riverbeds) that could not be auctioned earlier due to high reserve prices or large sizes and directed officials to prepare a list of such ghats, proposing amendments to the reserve amount if necessary to enable auctioning.

Vijay Sinha emphasized that the auction process should be completed in a timely manner and on a priority basis.
Sinha instructed Assistant Directors and Minerals development Officers across districts to coordinate with their respective District Magistrates to ensure the auction of sand ghats proceeds smoothly.
The minister also directed that advertisements for the auction process be published promptly in the newspaper to expedite the procedure.

Senior officials, including the senior officials, including the Secretary and Director of the Mines and Geology Department, Mineral Development officers from various districts, and other key officials, were present at the review meeting.
Sand mining operations in Bihar are s significant source of state revenue and employment, and the government, and the government aims to streamline the process before the upcoming Assembly elections while ensuring legal and environmental compliance in the mining process.
